Apex to open hospital in Nigeria

Apex Medical Center announces plans to open a new American Specialty Hospital and Rehabilitation facility in Abuja, Nigeria in 2012.

D. David Ezeanolue, M.D., will be the Medical Director for the new facility and Lawrence M. Preston, MBA, FHFMA will be the Executive Vice President of Development and Planning.

The facility will bring quality multi-specialty medical management with special initial emphasis in Pain Management and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Ezeanolue has served as Medical Director for many facilities and departments in Las Vegas, Nevada USA over the past 13 years including University Medical Center, Kindred Hospitals, Horizon Specialty Hospital, The Plaza Regency, Torrey Pines Care Center, Vegas Valley Rehabilitation Hospital, and TLC Care Center. Dr. Ezeanolue brings with him a proven track record of success and expertise.

Dr. Ezeanolue is board certified and a diplomate in several areas of medicine, including internal medicine, pain management, electrodiagnostic medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation. He is a fellow of the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He is a designated United States Civil Surgeon. Dr. Ezeanolue serves as Consultant in several Hospitals and has received several awards including “Americas Top Physicians Award” in 2007 & 2009 from Consumer Council of America.

Mr. Preston has extensive experience in managing and consulting with Hospitals Physician practices and other large healthcare delivery systems. Mr. Preston also works internationally in the development of hospital or healthcare systems. Mr. Preston has over 37 years of working in healthcare delivery. He specializes in Hospital development and Operations as well as medical tourism. Mr. Preston has worked as the Chief Financial Officer at several hospitals, Controller at a large University Hosptial and CEO for a teaching hospital with family medicine residency program.

Mr. Preston has reviewed and assisted with health systems in Thailand, Costa Rica and Mexico. Mr. Preston has also lectured at national conferences, regional conferences and many local conferences. Mr. Preston has also taught at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in healthcare care administration and the University of Phoenix Master’s in Healthcare Administration program.

The entire Apex Medical Center, Las Vegas staff will be working also at the Abuja-Nigeria facility once opened. Initial team (Staff) at the new specialty hospital will include:
